The first course for adults in France tooks place this summer in the Durance valley in Argentiere la Besse.
All participants had fun and learned a lot in 5 days of intensive lessons under a wonderful alpine sun.
The course was organized by Bologna Kayak Club and held by Michele Ramazza. The 11 participants were divided, according to their level, in two groups. The II Level worked primarily in a stretch of river downstream of Argentiere and the third level has experienced mainly in grade III slalom camp.
Technical program
The second level focused mainly in the foundamental strokes for white-water and on the river descent approach. There was also the chance to work on the eskimo-roll in the beautiful campsite lake.
The III level worked on the basic moves and the trajectories for class III. Through repeated exercises they refined many aspects that allow paddlers to define a precise trajectory in a river.
Logistic
The valley offers several nice campsites and quite cheap, almost all with the adjacent lake.
Next editions
The course is probably going to take place again in Agoust 2012
