Teva Extreme Outdoor Games 2011

Thursday morning, the Teva Extreme Outdoor Games have started. 52 athletes divided into two heats took part at all kayak races. The first race has been the Downriver individual race. 7-8 minutes of fullon class V creeking down the Chiusella. Except for an accident involving a Norwegian girl during her warming up, who has slammed the canoe against a rock causing the fracture of both ankles, everything else went smooth.

Since the beginning of the race the leaders of the general results were: Mike Dawson, Sam Sutton, Michele Ramazza, Eric Deguille and Honza Lasko.The women category was leaded by Martina Wegman and Anne Hubner.
After the individual race, the spectacular Top 20 King of the Falls race took place in the upper Chiusella. Ron Fisher took a perfect line down the main 15 m waterfall winning this race.
Many races followed in Ivrea in the next days. The most spectacular one has probably been the BoaterX down the hard artificial channel in Ivrea. Here you can see all the runs from Michele's helmet:
Final Results
Michele won the BoaterX on Sunday and this result took him in the third step of the podium, behind the two talented kiwis:

As every year, this event takes from all over the world the best competitors and paddlers in Ivrea. Teva Extreme Outdoor Games is a very nice event and a good chance to learn something.
