In Italy, between Bologna and Florence, Michele Ramazza and Filippo Brunetti just run the Perticara river, finding the perfect flow between two snowfalls. The temperature was about 6 degrees while the sun was shining on the red hills. The cold was not so hard and the pleasure of kayaking in the backyard was huge.
As expected, the New Year eve party was still on their back and the safety feeling of the summer kayaking season was replaced by the constant concentration typical of the on-limit descents. However, they run this steep class V river without portages and just one damaged stern.
